The Impact of The Jazz Studio
The Jazz Studio helps young musicians build confidence, discipline, creativity, and lifelong connections through jazz education and performance.
The Jazz Studio gave me the opportunity to explore jazz at a time when many school arts programs were being reduced. Hosea encouraged me to continue with music in college, and that decision led to some of my closest friendships and best memories. Even though I no longer play saxophone, the musicality and appreciation for jazz I gained continue to bring joy into my life.
Alexandria Atchinson
Jazz Studio Alumna
The Jazz Studio gave me opportunities to perform at my first music festival, record in a professional studio, and learn how to lead my peers. It also taught me preparation, punctuality, professionalism, and confidence—lessons that have remained valuable throughout my education and career.
Ty Kannegieter
Jazz Studio Alumnus
Harvard Graduate & Gates Cambridge ScholarBefore joining The Jazz Studio, I was afraid to play beyond traditional music. Learning to improvise gave me a voice and helped me overcome self-doubt. Mr. Hosea London believed in my potential before I fully believed in myself. Today, my confidence as a musician has grown beyond anything I imagined.
